Join HRI and the North Carolina Arboretum on Thursday, September 17 at 3 p.m. for a virtual presentation about hemlocks in western North Carolina. HRI staff will discuss the importance of hemlock trees in our western North Carolina ecosystems, how the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid is threatening them, what is being done to combat this pest, and what everyday folks can do to get involved in hemlock conservation. This talk serves as a nice introduction to the Protect Your Hemlocks Field Experience being held on the NC Arboretum Campus on Saturday, Oct. 3.

Pre-registration for the online presentation is required. Go the the NC Arboretum website to register. This class is free with the option to include a suggested donation. Your generous contribution goes to support education programs at the NC Arboretum.
