On Thursday, May 2, join the Hemlock Restoration Initiative and MountainTrue’s Green Riverkeeper for a night of entertainment and education at the Lanier Library in Tryon, NC.

We’ll start the night off with a showing of The Hemlock Woolly Adelgid: The Loss of an Ecosystem. This film is an educational visual resource to engage, raise awareness and create momentum on this destructive forest pest and invasive species in general.
We’ll then bring attention to our own backyard with a locally produced short film highlighting the efforts of a group of kayakers (the Paddlers Hemlock Health Action Taskforce) as they take on the big rapids with a special mission: save the hemlocks of the Green River Gorge!
Finally, the event will wrap up with HRI and MountainTrue staff inviting discussion and answering questions about the hemlock woolly adelgid, our work to combat it, the PHHAT team, and more.
The documentary will begin at 6 pm. The event is free. We hope to see you there!
