The Hemlock Restoration Initiative will host a demonstration of chemical treatment methods to control the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) for tree care, horticulture, and other professionals on Thursday, March 9 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville. Today hemlock management is simpler and less expensive than ever before!

Participants will practice assessing hemlock health to determine the best treatment options, and HRI staff will demonstrate systemic chemical treatment methods for HWA. We will use the trees on-site to demonstrate and explain a variety of methods available to professionals and landowners in North Carolina. We will also discuss environmental considerations when using systemic insecticides on hemlocks and other practical tips.

NC Pesticide Credits and ISA CEUs are available.

For registration information or questions, please contact Thom Green at info@savehemlocksnc.org or 828-252-4783. NOTE: in case of inclement weather, we are reserving 3/16 as a backup date.
