On Thursday, September 27th, the Hemlock Restoration Initiative was present at The North Carolina Arboretum’s annual Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Symposium.

HRI educated symposium participants about the hemlock woolly adelgid and how we manage this pest, especially highlighting our biocontrol efforts. We even broke out the microscope to allow passersby to take a zoomed-in look at the Laricobius nigrinus HWA predator beetle! We also attended several interesting presentations throughout the day.
