Kaitlin smiles and points at a marbled salamander in leaf litter

Kaitlin grew up in Lansing, Michigan where she attended Lansing Community College with an AA in International Studies and Michigan State University with a BA in Environmental Studies & Sustainability. After college, she moved to Colorado and worked at an AZA-accredited zoo in their conservation department and at a local government in North Carolina teaching the public about water pollution and freshwater biology. She enjoys traveling the world and has been to many countries including a 100-day backpacking trip across Asia. Wildlife brings her the most joy, whether that be a tiny salamander, a colorful mushroom, or a giant, old tree. In her free time, Kaitlin enjoys trivia, reading, and finding swimming holes.
