Are you in need of some good luck? Come help us treat hemlocks to protect against hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) at Little Bradley Falls in Green River Game Land! We’ll be hosting a Volunteer Hemlock Treatment Workday for good luck on Monday, March 17th, from 10am – 4pm.

Hemlock trees are an essential and irreplaceable part of western North Carolina’s forests, but for over 20 years, they’ve been under threat from the hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA)—an invasive insect that can kill trees in as little as four years.

Please note, volunteers will be working with insecticide and moving through the forest off trail in potentially challenging terrain. Every volunteer will be paired with an experienced, licensed professional who will provide instruction and guidance.

In case of inclement weather, the backup date will be Thursday, April 17th.

Reach out to Ayla at volunteer@savehemlocksnc.org or (828) 252-4783 with any questions. To register, fill out this form. More details will be provided after registration.
