Join the Hemlock Restoration Initiative (HRI) on Tuesday April 3rd at Headwaters Outfitters in Rosman for an educational evening all about hemlock conservation.
From 6- 7pm HRI Outreach Associate, Sara deFosset will be talking about the pest that is threatening hemlock health in our region and responses to the crisis. She will discuss the importance of hemlock trees in the ecosystem, the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) that is ‘bugging’ them and what everyday folks can do to combat this pest and protect their trees- including an exciting cost share opportunity that gives land owners in Transylvania County a serious break on the cost of chemically protecting their trees.
Representatives from the Hemlock Restoration Initiative and Transylvania County Cooperative Extension will be on hand before and after the presentation, beginning at 5:30pm, to answer questions, share resources and discuss the Transylvania County Cost Share Program.
This event is free of charge! Tuesday April 3rd 5:30- 7:30pm in the Media Room at Headwaters Outfitters, 25 Parkway Rd, Rosman, NC 28772.
