Join HRI on Wednesday and Thursday, March 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a couple volunteer hemlock treatment days at Holmes Educational State Forest. We will be returning to Holmes to re-treat the hemlocks across this entire small state forest in partnership with the NC Forest Service. This treatment day will have options for easy, moderate, and more strenuous levels of terrain and access.

On our work days, we treat hemlocks with insecticide to protect them from hemlock woolly adelgid. Every volunteer will be paired with an experienced, licensed professional who will provide instruction and guidance. Read more about this kind of work day here.
If you’d like to volunteer, please RSVP by Sunday, March 19 by contacting Thom Green at info@savehemlocksnc.org or (828)-252-4783. Please include a contact phone number and email address when you sign up. More details will be provided about the work day after signing up, but feel free to reach out with questions to the email or phone above.
