On Wednesday, February 6th, HRI AmeriCorps Stewardship and Volunteer Engagement Associate Hanusia Higgins led a hemlock hike for the Polk Middle School “Nature Navigators.” The middle school hiking club learned about the importance of hemlock trees, the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid, and the “good bugs that eat the bad bugs” as we walked along the beautiful Green River Cove Trail.

The Nature Navigators wrote a news store about the hike, which you can find here: http://polkstudents.com/polk-middle-nature-navigators-hike-for-hemlock/
