There are a number of ways to get involved. These include treating your trees, spreading the word about what is threatening hemlocks, participating in volunteer workdays to perform treatment, monitoring for biological controls, or taking part in research.

Folks in North Carolina can contact HRI directly for advice and to learn about upcoming events. Folks in other states can contact their state agencies responsible for invasive species management such as the state forest service, division of forestry, department of natural resources, etc., or the Cooperative Extension service to see what type of opportunities for involvement are happening in their area and to seek advice or support for treating areas. For more information, see pages under our ‘Resources’ tab.
