Emma grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and she attended Bates College in Maine. She’s done fieldwork in Peru, Colorado, and Maine. She has worked on a trail crew for the Southeast Conservation Corps as well as with a SCC disaster relief team helping with recovery from Hurricane Ida in New York City. She recently worked on a small scale organic vegetable farm in Michigan. Currently, she is working in her second season as a forestry technician with HRI. Emma plays the banjo and guitar and enjoys old-time music, dance and hiking.
