Learn to treat your hemlocks!

The Hemlock Restoration Initiative will be hosting a demonstration of chemical treatment methods to control the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid on Sunday, March 20 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bent Creek Experimental Forest Headquarters in Asheville, NC. Today hemlock management is simpler and less expensive than ever before!

Participants will practice assessing hemlock health to determine the best treatment options, and HRI staff will demonstrate HWA chemical treatment. We will use the trees on site to demonstrate and explain a variety of methods available to all landowners in North Carolina. We will also discuss environmental considerations and hiring a tree care professional.

NC Pesticide Applicators can earn 3 credits in categories G, N, D, and X. ISA CEUs are available pending approval.

Registration is required. We still have space available. Please sign up using this form as soon as possible. Email education@savehemlocksnc.org or call 828-252-4783 with questions about the event.
