Ben is a dedicated conservationist with a profound passion for freshwater ecology. He attended Texas State University, where he studied Wildlife Biology and spent as much time as possible fly fishing and paddling the rivers of Central Texas. Before joining HRI, Ben worked on the San Juan River in New Mexico, conducting telemetry studies on the endangered Razorback Sucker. Prior to that role, Ben worked in headwater streams of the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia, restoring floodplain connectivity and creating fish habitat. Ben’s journey in understanding and preserving aquatic ecosystems has been both fulfilling and purpose-driven. With a background in biology and extensive fieldwork, he has developed a keen insight into the delicate balance of freshwater habitats and the intricate web of life they support. Ben strives to contribute to sustainable practices that safeguard these vital environments for future generations.
