Ayla attended University of North Carolina Wilmington where she earned undergraduate degrees in Marine Biology and Spanish, then continued on to earn Master of Public Administration and Master of Science in Environmental Studies degrees. In her professional experiences, Ayla has enjoyed connecting with diverse people in purpose-driven work. She is new to Western North Carolina and excited to learn more about the culture and ecology of her new home. In her spare time, you can find Ayla cross stitching, exploring new hiking trails and swimming holes, or trying to perfect her chocolate chip cookie recipe!
