In the global history books, 2021 will probably go down as another topsy-turvy, conflictual year, but the Hemlock Restoration Initiative has had a productive and exciting 12 months! We’ve treated over 10,000 hemlocks this year and hosted nearly 50 volunteer workdays, hikes, educational events, and workshops. It’s been a blast getting to work outside in our beautiful Western North Carolina forests to protect the hemlocks and share that experience with the many wonderful volunteers and participants who show up to our programs. Our 2021 was big, and we hope that 2022 will be even more grand. Here’s to another year of saving the trees!
