In anticipation of fall rains, the HRI has some exciting volunteer workdays planned.

We want to invite anyone and everyone to join us for a fun and rewarding volunteer workday, treating hemlock trees in the Henderson/ Transylvania County area on Sunday November 13, 2016.

Whether you are a plant or tree care professional, a student, a homeowner with hemlocks, a concerned citizen, a forest lover, or simply looking for more information about hemlocks and how to help them, we hope to see you there!

While we have yet to finalize a location, we will either be working to complete treatment of all the healthy hemlocks in Holmes Educational State Forest, a project begun by AmeriCorps service members, in celebration of National Public Lands Day back in September, OR we will be working on treating trees in beautiful, neighboring DuPont State Forest.

If you think you may be interested in joining us, or if you have any questions about the day please RSVP to: info@savehemlocksnc.org by November 4, 2016.

We look forward to seeing everyone in November!
