The hemlock woolly adelgid is a serious invasive pest that is decimating the hemlocks in our forests. If you have hemlocks on your property and you’d like to better understand how you can save them on your own in an efficient and cost effective manner, please attend this information session.
There will be a presentation on hemlocks and the hemlock woolly adelgid in North Carolina, followed by a demonstration of how to chemically treat a hemlock tree. Attendees will learn how to tell if their trees are infected by woolly adelgid and about options for protecting their trees. Staff from the Graham County Cooperative Extension office and the Hemlock Restoration Initiative will be on-hand to answer questions.
The event will be held Monday Nov. 13th, 6:00- 8:00 pm at the Graham County Extension Office in the Smith Howell Building at 39 S Main St., Robbinsville, NC. RSVP to Extension Agent Randy Collins at (828) 479-7979 if you would like to attend.
